Wisdom

In a certain village one year, there was a woman who gave birth to two sons. Now it was rare that twins would be born in this village, not since the season
before the great harvest had twins been born. And so from the very beginning, it was known that these two children would be extraordinary.
The father and mother raised them with great care and when the time came in which a boy becomes a man, the parents sent them on a journey to seek
wisdom, and each of them was to find his purpose in life.
And so the two set out together. They journeyed far, far and deep until they found the Wise One and each of them asked for wisdom and each asked to know his purpose in life.
The Wise One addressed them both and said, "my sons, the wisdom is this: In this life we will experience all things, both good times and bad, success and failure, obscurity and fame, joy as well as sorrow, times of great wealth and times of great loss, times when we own land and times when the land owns us. For it is of dust that we are born and of dust do we return."
And the Wise One turned to the first son and said, "Your purpose, my son, is to bring both celebration and comfort during all of these times. And the second son turned to the Wise One and asked, "and of me Baba, during all of these times, what is my purpose?" And the Wise One answered, "Your purpose, my son, is to tell the story."
